I received an email from the folks at the Boston Athletic Association informing me that our event is no longer considered a Boston Marathon qualifier. I have appealed this decision, but I am not very hopeful that it will be reversed. If you have registered for this year's race and want a refund because of this, please contact me.

Out of curiosity what was the reason? The course length would be exact because of the track, it is not like you can cheat. It would be pretty obvious that there is some wo/man running across the ice falling on their butts cutting a lap. That really stinks. I am hoping to qualify...I will still run it because I'm running three marathons in 2011 anyways but boy that would stink if they upheld it.
They didn't give a reason other than to say that there are plenty of opportunities to qualify using an outdoor marathon. It's unfortunate and I am going to send an email to the Boston race director this week to discuss.
