Marathon Is Full

The InStep Icebreaker Indoor Marathon has officially reached its capacity of 80 runners. There are still 15 spots available through the Gold Medal Challenge so if you want to run the marathon and have not registered, you must sign up that way (and no, you cannot give your half-marathon entry to another runner!). Questions, email the race director at cponteri@runinstep.com.

Paul, thanks for your nice comment and for registering for the race. We look forward to putting on another first-class event next January.

Does anyone want to start a Facebook group for the indoor marathon? I know we're still a few months away, but especially for those of us who haven't been to Milwaukee for a long time, this would be a nice way to talk to other runners and coordinate a rideshare to the expo, the event, local advice, etc. I will be traveling from Duluth, MN and if anyone is traveling from Minneapolis/Saint Paul and would be willing to carpool, I would be interested in meeting you there. Also advice on where to stay would be helpful...looking forward to this event!!

We were going to discuss starting a Facebook group at our next indoor marathon planning committee meeting, which is next week. So look for it soon. Thanks.

Congratulations on filling it!!!

Terri, the Gold Medal Challenge is for people who are brave enough to run the half marathon on Saturday and the full marathon on Sunday. At this time, that is the only way to get in the marathon. There are still 10 spots left for the Gold Medal Challenge. Kenyon, we do not keep a waiting list. The race is full and there are no refunds or transfers. Sorry.

Just out of curiosity (as I've already signed up, but know others potentially interested in the HMs), how full are the halves getting? I know you won't deal with scheduling until later, but do you have an idea about how it's playing out so far? Thanks.
