Social/Training Runs

The first social/training run will be this Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Pettit Center. With the weather still nice, we are not expecting a big turnout, but we still encourage you to attend, especially if you have any questions about running in the Pettit Center, training for a marathon or just want to see what it's like to run on the track.

The folks at the Pettit Center have agreed to discount the track fee from $3 to $2. However, they won't have anyone working at the booth until 9 a.m. so you will have to remember to pay on your way out.

We will meet at 8 a.m. in the northeast corner of the Pettit Center. Go in the main doors, then go through the next set of doors into the track/ice area, then take a left and head toward the corner.

Also remember to dress warm because it's still cold in the building even if it's warm outside. I would recommend a long-sleeve shirt and maybe a second layer on top. You could probably get by with shorts, but you may also want to bring sweats. Light gloves and a light cap might also be a good idea.

We don't have set distances for these runs so you can go as far as you'd like. This week is 18 weeks out, so you should probably be in the first few weeks of your training program (or not!).
