Half Marathon Starting Times
We have finalized the starting times for the half marathons and have begun sending emails out to all runners to let them know which race they will be in. If you are registered for the half marathon and have not received an email from us by the end of the day tomorrow (Friday, December 18), please contact the race director at cponteri@runinstep.com.
New Website Almost Here
The new website is nearly ready and could be up as early as next Monday. The address for the new website will be the same as this one....www.indoormarathon.com. There will be a link on the homepage of the new site to the Race Director's Blog, which will be this site. I will be updating the blog site on a regular basis so registered runners will want to check that regularly.
Football vs. Running

It appears that the race director's beloved Green Bay Packers will be playing the hated Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship on the same day as the indoor marathon. Please be assured that the race will be over by the time the game starts and everyone will be home in plenty of time to watch the Packers shut down Brett "the Big Fraud" Favre.

Fleet Feet Brookfield Enters 12 Relay Teams!
Even though the Icebreaker Indoor Marathon is organized and sponsored by InStep Running & Walking Centers, we would like to give a loud shout out to one of our worthy competitors, Fleet Feet Sports of Brookfield, for entering 12 teams in the Marathon Relay. We issued a challenge to local running stores to put teams in the relay and Fleet Feet answered that challenge big-time. Thanks to Lauri and Rusty Sergent, the owners of Fleet Feet, for supporting the relay. We wish your teams the best of luck......as long as they don't beat any of the InStep teams.
We also have a team entered by Berkeley Running Company in Madison, and expect teams from Badgerland Running Co. in Lake Geneva and Rodiez's in West Allis. These teams will be competing in the Running Store Challenge, which is a traveling trophy that will be awarded to the fastest team from one of the area specialty running stores.
There are still plenty of spots left for teams in the Marathon Relay, which promised to be one of the most unique and exciting events of the weekend. Teams of 2 to 4 runners will run 26.2 miles around the Pettit Center track. The race will feature a "tag team format" where teams can switch runners as often as possible. To register, click here.
